Ballerina Test(inspired by Joe McNally)

After that amazing video Joe McNally posted on the Nikon website that DC shared with us I just had to try it Saturday since after all I had a ballerina shoot planned as well. I am actually pretty happy with my result as I only used one SB600(and I think he had at least 200 SB900's LOL) to get my results. I am confident that next time I will get a better result based on what I learned this time. My setup was my voice activated light stand(my wife :-) ) was standing just to camera left with my speed light in hand. I took the wireless trigger off my camera and hand held it. My camera settings were f/4.5, at ISO200, 3 second exposure. Flash was set at 1/4 power and was bare(no umbrella or diffusion). I had the model start on the left hand side of the frame and told her she had 3 seconds to get from one side to the other. As she made her was across the hallway my wife also followed her with the speed-light so that it would be hitting the same each time. Then I used my trigger to fire the flash 3-5 times as she went across the frame. Each time freezing the action of that particular second. I really had a BLAST doing this shot and will be adding it to my shot list from time to time and I'm sure as time goes on I'll get better at it(I learned a lot just from this one try). YEAH you did it!! Wow Chris it came out really great I love the background too! I'm greatful that video came out in time for your shoot! It's got me thinking about this alot too... but I've only got 1 flash!! :lol: :lol:

Thanks for the comment DC. Well if you experiment with it some make sure to post your results and settings and stuff so we can kinda learn from each other.
