Camera EOS 66 Drives: Open Thread

I saw the 66 Drives series several years ago and have always been fascinated by it. The series "examines tension between private and public in his remarkable series of photographs of individuals driving cars in and around Los Angeles." The idea is to capture society as it appears on the roadways. We always see odd and peculiar people and vehicles driving around. I am going to post my own interpretation on this series here. Others in the community are welcome to post images that fit within this theme too.

    Re: 66 Drives Challenge!

I was thinking on my way in to work this morning how I was going to go about participating in this... I don't like using my phone for taking pictures.... It just wasn't designed for that. If I had an iPhone, I would reconsider. I then realized, my wife's camera is not an SLR and I recalled the rules stated no SLR. I didn't recall seeing anything about no Point & Shoots. I'm back in again! I had an idea this morning that I think I could easily execute.... I'll make it a priority to do that this weekend or next week.

Point and shoot cameras certainly qualify!

Part of the idea with this contest is to get away from high tech DSLRs and to focus (<----a pun!) more on composition. My camera phone isn't that great - but I love using it. I don't worry as much about settings and I am free to focus on just framing the subject.

The dude in the truck in the first image reminds me of "Owen" from Planes, Trains and Automobiles! A lucky catch to have him look over! I love it!

They drove by too quick for me to get another shot off with my camera phone, but the back of the car said, "Just Married."

Wow you got some fun shots from the seat of the car! I have seen some interesting ones lately, but I am always driving or I miss the shot. I saw this guy driving a old bug that the front half of the car was chopped off and made into a motorcycle, or a trimotorcycle. Had the bag part of the bug with the rear two wheels but the front half had handle bars and one wheel. It looked very odd
