Welcome to the boards jontonn glad to have ya. The shot is good and I really like the colors in it. Looking forward to seeing more of your shots.
Hey everyone, I just can across this site, but I was really drawn to the stunning nighttime landscapes article. I have never done night shooting, so I decided to try it the other day. I didn't have much time, so I couldn't do very many really long exposures, but I was mainly doing this just to try out the process. I plan to go out again with no time limits, but this is what I got from my first time out. I hope you guys enjoy it!

Nicely done jontunn! Are those lights from a nearby city reflecting into the sky?
Thanks for the comments. I'm not actually sure where the color came from, there is mainly just farm land in that direction. I had the white balance on auto, so it could have had something to do with that. I actually lost the RAW file yesterday in a computer accident so I can't take a look at it. Luckily I had uploaded it to flickr before I lost it
As you add time (i.e. more seconds) to your exposures, you will start to see night turn to day effectively illuminating foreground elements. This can make for very interesting photography. Keep up the great work.
