And I e-mailed it to a friend interested in getting a DSLR. Of course, I was obliged to encourage Canon over Nikon, though. :-P
That's real unfortunate. Where the gun laws are real strict here, we have the highest crime rates (DC, Chicago...)
I felt the same way when I was living in New York! Are the gun laws in Italy really strict?
Thanks for the feedback Steve! There is nothing better than guns and photography. My ideal job would be web developer for a firearms company which allowed me to do all the programming and product...

I know how you feel about shooters and some of the other games. If you want to get away from games that are unnecessarily complex, there are plenty of Indie games out there and many of them are $20...
It's an interesting place to visit. Not sure I'd want to stick around.
I didn't get to go out much while I was there, unfortunately. I ended up with a nasty cold and lost any desire to do anything.
When I visited Bellingham a couple months ago, there were a bunch of homeless. Many were on the 5 and Lakeway Dr. exit, but there were several in town as well. Next time I visit, I'll bring my...
I miss the fall leaves living in Arizona. I'll miss snow too.
Windows 8 looks pretty good. I downloaded and played with the preview release inside Virtual Box. I plan to upgrade my desktop and my wife's laptop soon. I might consider installing it on my MacBook...
Glad you were there to catch the fire. That would have been awful to have lost your house because of a USB card.
So, I'm getting pretty cheap these days and have other interests that require my money. So, I uninstalled LR4 and put LR 2.7 on my MacBook. It'll have to do for a while. I would like LR4 though.
Since I started dabbling in photography, I haven't been able to watch a movie the same way or even TV shows. My wife and I started watching "No Ordinary Family" on Netflix. I love the cinematography...
It definitely is hot! Thankfully we bought a house with a pool here. It helps a lot.
The import feature is much better than in 2.5, that's for sure!
I'm installing Lightroom 4 on my new MacBook... I've been stuck on Lightroom 2.5 for a long time now! Any tips for getting the most out of 4?
I haven't explored much yet. Tim and I went to Taliesin West and took some photos there, but I didn't capture anything too interesting.
It's been pretty hot here.... over 100 for a couple months...
It's amazing how much you're able to push the exposure in post on those photos and not get a lot of noise. Now I really want a 5D!
They are indeed! Bethany is starting 3rd grade in a week and Caitlyn will be in kindergarten. They do grow up quite fast.

They came out quite sharp. What ISO setting were you using? Do you find you get similar quality in lower light environments with your 7D?
I'd probably photograph it too! It looks like it'd make a great wallpaper for your computer or your phone.
You seem to be doing a great job capturing those images, despite your equipment. I really like the buildings in the third shot and the perspective on the fourth one. Great work!
Great captures, Darren! I love silky smooth waterfalls in photos! You captured them nicely.
What was the shutter speed you shot those with?
