Free Vintage Lightroom 3 and 4 Presets for Portraits and Weddings
Note: Be sure to check out our other free Lightroom presets.
If you’re a portrait or wedding photographer, you are going to love these free vintage Lightroom 3 & 4 presets for portraits and weddings! There are 10 presets in this collection; each one designed to produce a distinctive retro look.
I make virtual copies of all my favorite client portraits and process them with one or more of these vintage presets. High school seniors are fascinated with faded, old film styles of the past. Brides love the nostalgic feel of vintage wedding photographs. These presets do all of the work for you in just a few clicks!
After you finish processing your images with these vintage presets, drop them into our retro borders to finish off your work. You’ll love how your pictures look!

How to Install the Vintage Presets (it’s easy!)
The Vintage Presets are available as a downloadable zip file. Download the file onto your desktop (or someplace convenient). You should now have a folder named “F-Stop-Spot-LR4-Vintage-Presets.zip” on your desktop. Unzip the zip file onto your desktop. Open the folder you just unzipped and look for a sub-folder named “F-Stop Spot LR4 Vintage”.
To install the presets, open Lightroom and navigate to either the Library or Develop Module. Next click Edit -> Preferences from the top menu to open the preferences dialog window. Click on the Presets tab (at the top) and then Show Lightroom Presets Folder. Your computer’s file explorer window should pop open. Open the Lightroom folder and then open the Develop Presets folder.
Save the sub-folder named “F-Stop Spot LR4 Vintage” (that is within the main folder you just unzipped) inside the Develop Presets folder. Now you must close and re-open Lightroom for the presets to show up. You will find the presets in the left panel under the Develop Module.
Using the Vintage Presets
Lightroom presets can make your images look amazing with a single click, but you may find that they need some fine tuning. If your images are too bright or dark after using the vintage presets, simply adjust the exposure slider. Overall contrast can be increased by playing around with the Contrast (duh!) and Blacks sliders.
You can make minor hue and color adjustments in Split Toning panel (within the Develop Module) by moving the Hue and Saturation sliders. Feel free to experiment and personalize the presets so that they express your unique personality!
Note: Lightroom 3 and 4 use different processing engines so you may find slight differences between the two sets of presets. I have made every attempt to ensure that the vintage presets look amazing in both versions of Lightroom.
