This is my new SB-600 all set-up with the AB wireless trigger, shoe-mount adapter, and sync cord. As you can see I got the trigger velcro'd to the side with some standard velcro(would've got black but I got the white for free sooooo that's why :-) ). Also notice I have the trigger facing downwards, this is so that I can still swivel my head out to the side should the need arise. I also took some black tape, which you can barely see at the base of the flash on the shoe, and wrapped it really tight to my hot-shoe adapter so that it would've fall off. The only downside to this is that I blocked the external AF-assist illuminator contacts in the front but since I will be using this flash 90% off-camera this is a non-issue(i'd rather it stay together than fall apart lol). I am really really really excited about having off-camera flashes in my bag now. Before I was using continuous-lighting set-up which I will still use from time to time should the need arise. Anyway I have started working on another fun tutorial which I will be putting up shortly. Hope everyone has a great day, and for those of you in the south I hope you enjoy this day of snow as much as I will(if it sticks)!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice Chris! Isn't it great to have off-camera flash? I was thrilled the first time I got to play with my flashes off-camera.

Yes they do. I'd like to get a couple of studio strobes to use when I need more power or faster recharge times.
I was doing a family portrait session recently where I wished I had the ability to shoot in quicker bursts.

Generally speaking, how long do you have to wait for charge times? I'd love to make my flash an off-camera flash, I don't know where to start looking for triggers and such. I've been reading around about how to set up your lighting and it looks like a lot of fun but I have to be able to justify it some how as well.

According to Ken Rockwell, the recycle time is about 2.5 seconds for the SB-600. You might get different results depending on the batteries you use.
