View Full Version : Photowalk in my Yard

I was sitting around the house bored today wanting to kill some time so I grabbed up my camera and threw on my Tameron 75-300 macro lens and headed out into the yard. Got a couple good Images and two of them are Black and Whites but one is color so rather than creating another topic in another thread i'll just post that one color image here. I haven't ever done much macro stuff so hopefully they aren't too bad :-), and as always feel free to leave any comment!

I really like the first and last... particularly the first. I like close up abstracts like that. The depth of field and composition is great on that one. The B&W treatment likely removes the distractions that background colors might provide. Great work, Chris!

I agree with John.

Thanks for the input guys. I am going to start taking some more macro shots in the future because I never realized how much fun it could be!

They are fun. I wish I had a better macro lens. The only lens I have that's good for close up shots with narrow DOF is my 50mm f/1.8. It doesn't focus close enough for my desires, though. I've thought about getting the Kenko tubes, but I'd rather have a dedicated macro lens such as the 100mm f/2.8 Macro or the 65mm f/2.8 1-5x Macro lens.... The 100mm lens would have much more use beyond macro... The 65mm lens is a manual focus lens, but it can fill the frame with a grain of rice!
