Pike Place Market in Seattle

Yesterday my wife and I dumped the kids and jetted off to Seattle for the day. Given that it was a holiday weekend, I was surprised that the streets weren't more packed with visitors and pedestrians.

Normally, I would bring my DSLR with me; however this time around I left it behind so I wouldn't be distracted (it's hard to spend quality time with my wife when my head is constantly buried behind a camera!). Anyway, I have been trying to use my camera phone more and this was a great opportunity to break it out (at least until my wife caught me taking pics!).

Look at the bend the lens on my camera phone created on the building in the last image!

That's some serious distortion on that building there.

I have a hard time concentrating on my wife or my family when I bring my camera along too. It's good that you're playing with your camera phone. I wish my iPod touch had a camera in it. I'd definitely use it.

I laugh at the family comments, out of sheer indepth impathy!! It seems like the balance of wife/ husband realtionships often gets tipped by photography. My wife is the same, and so is my sensitivity to the issue. Yet it nevers fails, the times I make it a point and a verbally communicated point at that, to my dearly beloved wife, I'm not going to bring the camera bag, she see's something she likes and quickly says, "Babe- take a shot of that!"

I know this community for us as guys will only strengthen our abilities... as photographers... as husbands... as dad's ( grand-pa's too) and as followers of Our Lord!
