Here is a shot of my eldest daughter. She is 12 and fast becoming an urban teenager. She is often the hardest to capture as she has that awkwardness with herself that girls have at this time in their lives. I really like this one as I think it shows her beauty, vulnerability and some of the edginess that she has at the moment. She likes it too and thinks it is cool so I am really pleased to have a photo of her she is happy with.

Wow Sarah....very great portrait!! I do agree the 'edgy' look is awesome.

That turned out great, Sarah. I like how the background turned out... It looks urban, but without any of the detail.

Thanks everyone :) I am learning bit by bit to experiment in PS and having loads of fun building up my skills. I have a long way to go!!
Here is my other daughter too.

Love both these two pics. The first one has an "urban" feel...the second one has a "windswept beach" feel. And, it didn't need a detailed background to give off those feelings. Just how I get from the photos. :)

I really like how the first one captures character with the non-traditional pose while still having short depth of field that says 'portrait.'
