So, I just want to make a thread about the direction of this forum. Going forward we will be holding "Challenges" and "Contests". These will be held side by side in many cases with the challenges lasting about 2 weeks and the contests lasting a month or so. Official start and end dates will still be posted in the topic of the challenge and contest and the same rules and regulations will apply. The major change is that the Challenges are not going to be held for prizes. They are hopefully going to be topics that will help get you outside of your comfort zone and grow overall as a photographer. I was thinking of doing topics such as shapes, colors, textures, etc. I would love input on this from the community and see if these are topics you would be interested in shooting as themes for challenges and feel free to add your own and I will create a database full of ideas that we can do over time. The contests are going to be more zoned in to a specific area and will run for longer than challenges and may or may not involve prizes. This is a great community and offers a ton of helpful information and is always trying to help give feedback that will help improve your photography. If you are feeling nervous about posting something that may receive negative feedback, fear not. I have posted many images and received so much helpful feedback and each comment just helps me grow as a photographer. I am very new to being a moderator and will be relying on feedback from the community to make sure I am doing what is best. If you don't want to have your comments being public feel free to send me a PM and I will respond very quickly. I very much look forward to your feedback on this and will be starting a new Challenge very soon.
