In the spirit of posting stuff on a regular basis, here are a couple images I shot yesterday of FSU vs Marquette playing in the NCAA Sweet 16 tournament. The game was great and for once I was happy with how the shots came out. They were shot on my 7D with the 300L 2.8 IS.

Shot1:
An FSU player gets a foot past the hands of Marquette's keeper. Cropped on left, top, and bottom, but the leg was cut off in the original capture. f/3.2 1/1600 ISO 200

Shot 2:
Marquette's keeper grabs the head of an FSU forward instead of the ball. Not cropped. f/3.5 1/1250 ISO 200

Shot 3:
An FSU player on her knees after scoring is knocked over by a team mate hugging her. Cropped. f/3.5 1/800 ISO 160

Great, great captures! That 7D and 300mm lens are a great combo.

Thanks! The depth of field is only a few inches, which can be hard to manage, but the 300 and 7D really are an amazing combo. I was shooting images at 2am on a dimly lit street today for a night life project and I could still get good images hand-held with it.

Outstanding shot! Love the emotion that's captured in that last one. Think I'll have to pick up the 300mm lens. :) Anyone have any extra money they want to give me? :D

Haha with Christmas right around the corner I don't think anyone has 'extra' money :-P
