So I had a photo shoot last night. Before my son was born and my wife was pregnant, my wife would come to all my shoots. Well she has started coming again and my son gets to come too! The clients dont seem to mind a little one there. Well yesterday I took my Canon 24-70mm L 2.8 to a local photo store called Picture Line to have it sent in to Canon for repairs. It was dropped a little while back, and its inconsistent on its sharpness. It depends on the aperture and focal length if it was somewhat sharp or not. Still didnt give results like I want even on the best settings. Well needless to say, the only other lens I owned was the 15mm fish eye 2.8. Not your portrait lens. So I needed a lens while my main lens I use for portraits is sent to Canon. I purchased the Canon 50mm 1.4 lens. And for the $400 spent on it, all I can say is wow! Amazing sharpness for a $400 lens. Loved the results from the client shoot last night. After the shoot, I had my wife step in front of the camera for a shot. Here is the photo with my new 50mm 1.4 lens. I wonder how much sharper the L 1.2 is because the 1.4 is amazing enough.

Love this shot Chase. The colors are awesome and I am really digging the lighting! Great shots and I would love to see some other shots from the night.

Oh I miss the mountains. :-( Love the lighting you used.

The 50mm 1.4 is one of my favorite lens now. I just picked it up a couple months ago (after I destroyed my 1.8) and it has been super great especially for indoor shooting. Put that on my 7D which does great at high ISO and I don't need a flash for indoor action shots.
